Feb 2013 What Did You Learn in Kindergarten?

I love kindergarten.  I can read and I am learning to write too.  We study authors every month.  This month we are studying Mo Willems.  He wrote a lot of books about "The Pigeon" like  "Don't Let The Pigeon Drive the Bus".

When we study an author, we read his books and learn about his life.  We also do other things like see the stories on video or as a play.  And, we do art like the pictures in the books.

I learned how to draw "The Pigeon" and then paint over the top and then outline over the top when its dry.

Painting over the top of my drawing

Time to read books while the paint dries.

How did I do?  Have I told you yet?  I am an Artist.

May 30 - Whidbey Island Fun

i promised to take inge to whidbey island.  we decided to take our mommas with us.  first, we rode a ferry.  we drove up the ramp in our car and then the ferry started to move.  it was very exciting.

it was nice out and not raining anymore, so we walked through town to see the art galleries.  inge likes to do that.  it was my first time.  i did a good job.  i pointed and didn't touch or bump or break anything.  i found a water fountain hiding in one of the shops too.

oma and her doggie stopped for a rest while i petted the doggie statue.  that's my kind of doggie.

then, we went to the beach to dig in the sand and hunt for rocks for inge to tumble.

inge and i are very good rock hunters.  oma and the doggie are very good at walking on the beach.  then, everyone took a little rest while i continued to explore the beach.

we had ice cream and i fell asleep before we got home.

Jun 22 - Mommy School - Color Mixing

today was the first day of mommy school for the summer.  we are learning about colors and mixing them together.  i know that if you mix two colors together, you get a new color.  i just don't know which color.  so, today i used food coloring and water to mix colors.  i had such lovely colors in the bowls, i didn't want to waste them.  and, i was hungry . . .

which color of mashed potatoes would you like ?

the blue mashed potatoes were very yummy.  i added butter and salt, of course.  momma ate the red ones and daddy ate the green ones.
