Jun 22 - Mommy School - Color Mixing

today was the first day of mommy school for the summer.  we are learning about colors and mixing them together.  i know that if you mix two colors together, you get a new color.  i just don't know which color.  so, today i used food coloring and water to mix colors.  i had such lovely colors in the bowls, i didn't want to waste them.  and, i was hungry . . .

which color of mashed potatoes would you like ?

the blue mashed potatoes were very yummy.  i added butter and salt, of course.  momma ate the red ones and daddy ate the green ones.

Jun 17 - Welcome to My Fairy Room

now that i am five years old, i have decided to change my room a little.  i have a castle with a courtyard and tower and castle curtains on one side . . . .

and me and my big girl fairy bed on the other side. 

i also have a lot of fairies near my door as you can see.

i love my fairy room.  i am so grown up.

Apr 2 Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Feb 6 - What Did You Do Today?

here in redmond in the winter, lots of days are darkish and wet.  some days are sunny.  some days are dry.  but very few days are dry and sunny.  so what would you do on the first dry and sunny day of the year?

go to a park right after school and play baseball . . .

or play tag with daddy.  i'm it.  i'm going to tag you.  here i come.  got you.  you're it.  you can't get me.  i'm over here.  come and get me.  (noting the distances between the players, can you guess who is the fastest runner in the family?)

or play in the "sand" box.  first you dig a whole and throw in a pinecone.  then cover it up and give it a little stomp.

maybe a few more stomps . . .

maybe jumping on it would be better.

then ask Daddy to find your missing pinecone.

oh, on a side note, when you are playing around little people in the sandbox, its a very good idea to keep your head down, your mouth shut and your shirt tucked into your pants.  you never know when a little person will have a mistake and through lots of sand in the air.  you don't want sand in your eyes or your mouth or on your back (it's itchy.)

or play tickley troll with Momma on the bridge.

well, at least, that's what i did.

Dec 7th - Finishing Up Christmas Tree Day

you would be surprised about how hard it is to hang little snowflakes and icicles on a christmas tree.



the little hooks are so little and then they fall through the branches.

but it looks very nice afterwards.

and then you add the gingerbread man and snow sled ornaments . . .

and turn off the room lights and on the christmas tree lights . . .

and get that very christmas-y feeling.

Dec 6th - Christmas Tree Day - Disaster Strikes

we needed to go to target to buy new christmas tree lights.  i took gingerbread man with me.  i lost him.

mommy and i went back to target to look for gingerbread man, but we couldn't find him.  he is lost.  i told daddy.  daddy went back to target to look for gingerbread man, he couldn't find him either.  gingerbread man is gone, forever.  i miss gingerbread man.

epilogue - while searching for gingerbread man, we found a new gingerbread man.  while we still miss old gingerbread man, we do love new gingerbread man and are starting to feel happy again.

gingerbread man is not allowed to go into stores.  he has to stay in my car with my yellow blanket so he doesn't get lost.  he has blue icing and blue buttons.

Dec 6th - Christmas Tree Day - My Little Tree

every year, i decorate my little tree in my room for christmas.

yes, that is a lighted banana on the top of my christmas tree.  (i like to eat bananas.)

yes, those are monkeys on my christmas tree trying to get to the big banana on top.

oh, i am so silly and festive.

happy christmas tree day.  gotta go help mommy with the big tree.

p.s.  yes, that is spaghetti sauce all over my face.  i like tomato sauce on noodles.  very yummy.

Dec 1st - Night Life

mommy: erynn what are you doing, its time for bed?

erynn:  just reading my christmas music box and listening to christmas carols.

i love to listen to christmas music.  i feel very nice.  i've been listening to christmas lullabies since Halloween.  it's deck the halls.  i have Christmas fever.  don't tell daddy.  i would be in lots of trouble.  do you like my christmas snowflake blanket?  i am warm and toasty.  ok.  i will go to sleep now.
